Space Spelunker
Space Spelunker has 3 all new levels designed completely different than the original build and a bonus mode called "Endless Mode".
Other features include a boss enemy with extra health and size change,
recolored full health box,
changed menu to reflect endless mode and game instructions.
Level 1
- Level 1 was created with inspiration from the first levels of Super Mario Bros. to allow the player to have a simple straightforward level in which they could traverse and familiarize themselves with the controls. This includes very few areas to fall, easy jumps to make and a simple straight level direction. A bonus room was added for players who wanted something a little more challenging by obtaining a key card only reachable by jumping off an enemy head and using that momentum to reach the platform where the key card is for the secret room.
Level 2
- Level 2 introduces a more complex room where the player must traverse through multiple rooms in order to reach the end level destination. The level layout is set up with one main chamber and all side chambers encircling the main chamber with the end portal/crystal placed in the center of the room easily showing the player where they need to go when they obtain the final key card to unlock the final door. The first room available is on the left and progresses in a clockwise fashion so the player knows easily where they need to go to obtain the next keycard. A boss is in the room with the final key card and acid walls are placed above his head in his patrol area to prevent the player continuously jumping on the bosses head to defeat him and to prevent the player from jumping over the boss grabbing the key and leaving the room without defeating the boss.
Level 3
- Level 3 is a simple room but requires the player to time their moves more because the end goal/crystal can only be reached by jumping off multiple enemies to reach it.
Endless Mode
- An endless mode was added to the game for player who wanted more of a challenge. The level is laid out in close proximity setting and requires the player to navigate upwards and obtain keys until they reach the next level of the endless run with each level becoming increasingly more difficult than the last. Difficulty is increased through adding more environment hazards like acid walls more enemies and smaller traversable platforms.
