Changes to game

-Pistol colors have been changed to copper and green.

-A unique second maze level added.

-Enemy spawners glow green in the dark.

-Character light added for space suit light effect in darkness.

-Darkness added to 2 out of the three levels of the game.

-Copper ore added to the game to reflect name of game and asset search for character for end game.

Level 1

- Level 1 is set up with landmarks for players to easily locate and move to. Your first checkpoint has the keycard with your first door to traverse to. After opening your first door you are immediately greeted by some melee ground enemies and some ground shooter enemies. The ground shooter enemies are on a spawner and guide the player to their source of spawning to be dispatched. The spawner is located right beside the second checkpoint and second door. The keycard to unlock the second door is to the left of the check point down a path and give the player a good indicator that they will need to go down that path to reach the second key card to unlock the second door. For more adventurous players there are some cliffs behind the second key card location that the player can jump on and obtain an extra life if they can reach the location without falling down the cliff. Once through the second door the player immediately sees a dark cave entrance that is in contrast to the bright desert surrounding thus guiding the player to the end portal and level 2.

Level 2

- Level 2 is set underground in darkness with light only provided by your character light or by enemy spawners. The spawners act as a guiding source for players to traverse different sections of the underground tunnels. Two spawners are placed by the entrance to the tunnel where the end level portal to give the player the heads up that is where they need to go.

Level 3

-Level 3 is a small circular underground room with lots of headspace both for ambience and to allow the player with some breathing room for the hive queen boss fight. Because of the room design the player can move in a circular fashion to avoid enemy fire and fire back at the boss. More lighting is provided in this level than in level 2 to allow the player to focus more on the boss fight. To make it slightly more challenging, two flying shooter enemy spawners were added to add some difficulty to the boss fight while traversing around the room.

Challenges

Some challenges with this game included reversed mapping of the W and S keys. In this game W is backwards movement and s is forward movement which is very different than your every day traversal key mapping on games. There was also a sensitivity issue with the player shooter in that some players found on their computer the game was very sensitive to their look movements than others.
